About The Samuel Plant Sub Base Project

I was put in touch with Samuel by Britannia Concrete and spoke with him about what was needed.
Sam needed a sub base of 6 inches of gen 3 pump mix for his structural base ready for insulation, underfloor heating and liquid screed.

We established the height required and how much insulation was needed ready for the liquid screed. We then ordered the concrete.

An early pump was decided on as we had another pump to get to in the afternoon. This allowed us more than enough time for the job.

We arrived in lower penn at 6:45am and got set up. Laying our 4 inch pipe to the furthest point, this way we were able to snap back the pipe when moving – back filling each room with the 6 inches of concrete specified on the plans.

We were slightly held up with the concrete, however, we always try to allow some breathing time and this gave us enough of a window to get over to our next job set up and pour.

The Client’s Challenge

The underfloor heating area was fairly large at 155m² and required correct heights to be established along with the amount of insulation.

Our Approach And Solution

We established the height required and how much insulation was needed ready for the liquid screed. We then ordered the optimum volume of concrete. Once finished levelling, we dappled each room for a more uniform finish and checked the heights with our laser.
